Frank Partridge of Frank Partridge & Sons, London, established c.1905
A conversation between Frank Partridge and project lead Mark Westgarth.
Frank comes from one of the most important and influential antique dealing firms of the 20th century, Frank Partridge & Sons, (later Partridge Fine Art PLC) which eventually closed in 2009 after over 100 years of trading. The interview captures Frank’s memories working in the family business, which he joined in the early 1980s. Frank has fascinating observations on the history of Partridge & Sons, as well as insightful reflections on the wide range of social changes in the late 20th century and their impact on the British antique trade.
